My subconscious is better at writing songs than I am...

True story.

Do you ever have those dreams where everything seems ENTIRELY real and you don't realize you're dreaming until you wake up? I had a dream that I was sitting at my piano, writing a song. When I woke up (at 4am) I still had the song stuck in my head and I still remembered some of the chords and lyrics dream-me was playing and singing. An hour later, I'd fleshed the song out, recorded a super rough take, and headed back to bed.

When I woke up in the morning, I had a serious moment where I couldn't remember if that had all actually happened or not... talk about throwing yourself for a loop. Man, I have got to stop eating before bed.

Lineup ch-ch-changes!

Hey all,

I have some bittersweet announcements to make. As of a few days ago, Nathan Fosaaen and Myles Dunder (former guitarists) have left Raimee to pursue other personal and musical projects. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to pull the typical response and cite "creative differences" as the reasoning for the split, but in the end, it is what it is. Nathan and Myles are both great musicians and we wish them the best in all of their future endeavors.

This development will not, however, affect Raimee or any of our future plans. Our core remains unchanged and we're not letting it slow us down. I'm still writing and playing and singing, David is still kicking ass at drums, Brandon (formerly bassist) is actually an extremely talented guitar player and is taking over lead guitar (the kid is pretty amazing, he's already learned the solos and can play the songs like he's been playing guitar in the band all along!), and Ricardo will be filling in on bass until we have a chance to audition some new guys. We're plowing ahead with preparation for shows and finishing up our EP, which we hope to release in the fall. We've got some super exciting stuff lined up, and I can't wait!

Time to hit the ground running!

What? We have a blog now?

Hey, look at that, Raimee has an official blog now! How spiffy and exciting!

In all seriousness, though, I hope that keeping up the blog will be a great way to keep everyone posted with news and the like. And since all of these posts feed directly into the website and the Facebook... well, that just makes my job a lot easier.
